I drew my weapon on a crazy person (radical Muslim, I discovered later) last February in my Laguna Hills office parking lot. Most of the incident was recorded on my 911 call (link). (Despite dozens of witnesses and building lockdown, the incident did not even make the Register’s police blotter.) Organized terror is one thing, but personal jihad is an additional concern and the guard’s report indicated some signs of what I would call proto-terrorism. What should we blame? Chance? Stress over culture clash? The Beast? I am blessed with great, well-balanced Muslim clients (including couple I am meeting today) but we all need to look at unique challenges faced by Muslims in America, and the consequences.
