The pair did turn out to be illegal aliens, but the court held that the reason for the stop did not meet the threshold of "reasonable suspicion"--the same language the Arizona law uses. Yet while the justices held that the men's Mexican appearance was not sufficient to justify the stop, they also said that it would have been legitimate to take it into account along with other factors.

Minuteman Group Issues High Alert

My first blog http://daveduringer.blogspot.com/ narrates what happened on a night i will never forget, serving on the border with the California Minutemen in 2005. That was a great group of guys (multi-racial, lots of vets) though because of the risk and what i saw with another group, i decided not to continue. Still a good thing overall, but you may want to keep my experience in mind, in case you decide to participate in response to an alert such as the one below just issued by Minuteman Civil Defense Corps in AZ. Be careful out there, and know the people in your group:

MCDC volunteers will work under an entirely different SOP; we will approach our duty as citizens as we should - we have a zero tolerance for any and all violations of our border and we will forcefully engage, detain, and defend our lives and country from the criminals who trample over our culture and laws.

From the surveillance videos we have gathered in the field over the past six months it is more than evident the violators of our borders seem to have been given carte blanc permission to willfully violate our public safety. I have some experience with this.  While helping watch the border as a California Minuteman in 2005, I saw a lot of good people from different races working together, but then I quit after hearing some others (small group) walk around using words like "Aryan" etc.  Though I still supported the overall effort and that was just a few individuals, I didn't want to be anywhere near that kind of thinking.  These racists are not in any sense "conservative."  As Ayn Rand said, racism is the worst form of socialism.

Cochise Borders Civil Defense Corps is now officially known as Cochise County Militia. Advertisement Bill Davis, the director and founder of the group, said he is authorizing the carrying of rifles and shotguns, in addition to handguns. It looks like both the promises to new mothers and disabled children have been covered. This positive is conditional on the budgeted payments actually coming into effect, of course, as well as dealing with the majority of other sub-pledges. sub-pledges include: a) Reverse population decline (-) b) Increase support for new mothers tenfold (+) c) guarantee good healthcare for pregnant women. d) provide assistance to those raising children or caring for the elderly e) revive state kindergartens and nurseries, ban the sale of preschools (-) f) provide credit to homebuyers (-) g) eliminate child homelessness (-) h) provide free medical care to disabled children (+) i) establish a family doctor system (-) I'm going to give this more minor issue a weak negative rating. As with everything else, the benefits for families are on the budget, but the economy is so weak it is questionable whether or not they are affordable.

RKBA in Mexican Constitution

Mexico is one of the few countries in the world with some form of constitutional RKBA.  Unfortunately, regulation of guns is heavy despite this protection.  I think everyone realizes that failing to secure the border will lead to nightmarish politics for RKBA as we know it, but at least we are not completely starting from scratch in assimilation with regard to this essential element of American freedom.

The Constitution of 1917 (Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos de 1917), the current constitution in force and heavily-amended, grants Mexican citizens (and, theoretically, perhaps, all inhabitants) the right to possess firearms. However, this right does not include military firearms suitable for use in a militia, unlike in the United States where the Second Amendment is often interpreted as only protecting arms suitable for use in militias.

Gentlemen, our individual chance of having to deal with these monsters is thankfully remote, but it's likely that one of us will have to, especially as time goes on.  Let's give them a reception to write home about.  For example, in the appropriate circumstances, a well-placed shot, from close proximity, to the cranial-occular cavity, preceded perhaps by genuflection for an upward trajectory (avoids collateral damage in the event of penetration).  That might just do the trick, depending on the mechanism used for detonation.

Last Thursday, the Texas Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 1267, requiring the study of long-term partnerships such as the Texas Department of Transportation recommended in the construction of TTC-35, a four-football-fields-wide NAFTA superhighway financed and operated for 50 years by the Cintra investment consortium in Spain.

The Texas Senate action takes place less than two weeks after the Texas House passed by a 137-2 margin House Bill 1892 that includes virtually identical language to the anti-TTC bill passed by the Senate.

You mean, like this?  The groups I participated in were well armed (especially during the July '05 incident) but there was a third group (Friends of the Border Patrol) I did not participate with because that group's rules limited carry to LEO's only.  Predictably, that group ended up being assaulted by a mob, resulting in injuries and theft of membership lists, etc.  The border is a dangerous place.  (And as jimmyb of Conservative UAW Guy reminds us: free speech isn't free.)
