Starbucks' recent announcement (story here) that its support for legalizing same-sex marriage is "core to who we are and what we value as a company" has sent shockwaves through Christian America (coffee-drinking, tea partying, or just plain angry at globalist norm changing aimed at the families keeping America free).
Starbucks' brand of homonazi fascism on the subject of marriage is disturbing given what is known about the prevalence of homosexuality among the Nazis in Hitler's Germany (story here). (Sometimes I wonder about the folks at calgun.nuts, up in the Bay Area!)
Keep gulping down this corporate fascism, and you will end up with no food for your family, let alone coffee.
Are you familiar with the Ukrainian Holodomor, the artificial Soviet famine killing about ten million Ukrainian nationalists? You may not know about it because the schools ignore it.
Dare call it the "Ukrainian Holocaust" and a commie lib will scream at you for cheapening the term "Holocaust" - and they are right in a sense: the killing is not quite as direct. But it's still an intentional act resulting in a killing (or two).
Ditto the "Abortion Holocaust" which kills millions of children in this country. (Again, you are technically correct if you say the term "Holocaust" is cheapened because yes, the killing is less direct.)
Now we have the "Marriage Holocaust" perpetrated by Starbucks, which appears to be part of the globalist attempt to change norms of behavior in America, norms which keep America free with families strong enough to resist the growth of government, families strong enough to feed themselves and defend themselves.
[Families are why the Soviet Union fell. Because of my wife's family, growing up in Ukraine, she recognized the mandatory recycling programs and the like (e.g., bringing newspapers every week to her school, School No. 40) were all about control and propaganda, and her father was able to stand up to the local union.]
You say I'm cheapening the term "Holocaust"?
Everyone (even the homosexual) has a right to marry someone of the opposite sex. The institution of marriage as defined for eons is essential to a free society and more particularly, is a benefit to women and children.
Lives depend on it. Freedom depends on it. Change the definition of marriage and you CHEAPEN it. Instead of an institution focused on procreation (or adoption if necessary) and family building and the future, it becomes just one more hedonistic heresy of the here and now.
Starbucks, quit cheapening the term "marriage" and reverse this insane policy!

Origin and meaning of the name SANTORUM (link):
SANTORI, SANTORIO, SANTORELLI, SANTORIELLI, SANTORINI, SANTORUM: From the medieval first name Santoro, derived from the Latin word Sanctus = Saint, the genitive plural form is "Sanctorum", used also to indicate the All Saints feast. Possibly connected to someone acting as a saint, or who has connection with religious things (a sacristan)

A little known fact is that more than half of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were lawyers. Our problem these days is not that we have too many lawyers. A free society needs lawyers because this is earth, not heaven. Present-day Japan, for example, has few guns and few lawyers, but is not a very free society. Beware of those who would use force or restraint to create heaven on earth (Joe Stalin: "Let's kill all the lawyers").
The main problem we have these days is too much litigiousness--for example, too many Christians suing other Christians. This problem is perpetuated by Big Law pushing special-interest legislation and using their influence within mandatory state bars to stifle the efforts of smaller law firms (for example, trust attorney) to provide more efficient planning services, minimizing the need for such litigation.
Saying we have "too many lawyers" is like saying we have "too many guns" - you are the weapon, your lawyer is just a tool. Use your lawyer for defense only, and only to the extent necessary, not to ruin. He who lives by the law, will die by the law.
No lawsuit is filed without a plaintiff, and as for costly and tumultuous probate court, the heirs of those who plan need not pay for the errors of those who don't.

Question is, which kind is the US Congress?
I guess it takes all kinds.

To the Founders ammuniton was sacred, not to be wasted:
It is the Right of every English Subject to be prepared with Weapons for his defence....Carefully preserve the small quantity of gunpowder which you have amongst you; it will be the last Resource when every other means of Safety fail you--Great Britain has cut you off from further supplies.... [R]eserve what Ammunition you have as a sacred Deposit. He in part betrays his Country who sports it away, perhaps in every Charge he fires he gives with it the means of preserving the life of a fellow being.
[Letter circulated 19 June 1775 by North Carolina's delegates to Continental Congress]
Live fire is important to validate training and practice, but too much live fire can actually degrade performance. Not to mention, ammo's expensive! Dry practice, especially on a laser simulated range with moving and transitional targets, is an important supplement to the typical live fire on paper targets. Another great homily at Serra Chapel's Latin Tridentine Mass (Sundays @ 8am), on this Pentecost Sunday! In a nutshell, the Holy Spirit allows reconciliation and unity to get us past the alienation which results from man's prideful attempt to "reach the stars" in ways that God does not approve, ways that forget God and rely on controlling others, alienation of the sort seen with the effort to build the Tower of Babel.
Bastiat's "The Law" warns us where this type of plunder leads.
This alienation results in tribalism; no longer simply Americans equal under law, tribalism make us competitors at the public trough, leading us straight into the hell on earth known as socialism. Many tribalist leaders preach the un-American heresy of pacifism in their churches, including some large, white Christian churches, striking at core American values.

To our Founders, the right to bear arms was not merely a right useful for maintaining balance of power. More than that, regular carry was conducive to good character, absolutely essential to a nation of free men. This point is eloquently made in Eric Raymond's essay "Ethics from the Barrel of a Gun: What Bearing Weapons Teaches About the Good Life" - a quick and enjoyable read I first discovered when a student brought it to my first concealed carry class three years ago. Eric says his essay was inspired by a longer essay "A Nation of Cowards". I note also that the title of his essay appears to be spun off the famous Mao quote: "Politics grows from the barrel of a gun." On this I actually agree with Mao, but Eric goes further, making this important point: The regular bearing of arms preserves the dignity and character of a free people.
Also, take a look at my post on the Christian view of self-defense. That post links to a number of articles, including an excellent "must-read" by Dave Kopel. [Kopel cites Professor Volokh's use of the term "pacifist-aggressive" to describe those who wish to impose their pacifist beliefs on others. Interestingly, a few nights ago my wife (who like Volokh, is originally from Soviet Ukraine) used the same term to describe communists. We were watching a documentary on Muzzolini and she used the term to distinguish fascists, who emphasized use of violent militia groups, from the "pacifist-aggressive" communists who better hid the violence (mass starvation, KGB visiting at night).]
And here are my thoughts on how someone like Ayn Rand could fail to appreciate the right to bear arms.

I predict the new Atlas Shrugged movie opening today will force the James Taggarts of the business world to finally stand on principle and allow others to do the same. Thomas Paine wrote, "Commerce diminishes the spirit, both of patriotism and of military defense." Emails with green "save the trees" slogans leave me with the impression the sender is a sleazy slimeball global warming fraudster, willing to sell his child into slavery. How do others react to these green mantras? How will they react after seeing this movie? Over-taggartized professional and trade associations and business networking groups can make us feel like we are the only ones cringing at the new green religion, but this movie, so long anticipated, comes out in very desperate times forcing many to take a hard look at economic reality.
Early in our marriage, I took my wife to a movie about Ayn Rand's life. It was very meaningful for my wife, who grew up in the Ukrainian SSR, and Helen quickly became a fan of Rand's books. We even named our daughter after this great author who gave such eloquent voice to the merits of the individual freedom essential in a rational Christian faith and true charity. Rand's horrible political incongruity [she did not have much respect for fetuses; also, see her views on self-defense here] and personal failures in applying her own philosophy, mainly due to her inability to recognize God's hand, do not detract from the moral case she makes for individual freedom. In fact, those failures serve to illustrate the necessity of rational faith as a bedrock for values supporting individual freedom. Besides, Ayn Rand is no longer an atheist, is she? God bless her.
Helen, Ayn and I, eagerly anticipate viewing the movie this evening.

The Jerusalem Post reports new evidence that the Muslim Brotherhood seeks global conquest and re-establishment of an Islamic Caliphate.
For world conquest, the Muslim Brotherhood needs to go through California. Our "brothers" from the netherworld would do well to remember the story of Califia, a pagan who, after joining Muslims in battle against Christians, was bested and ended up converting to Christianity. Californians would do well to remember that, too.

Tolerance is a Western thing. It comes from Christianity. Lose Christ, and you lose tolerance. Think you'll get rid of religion if you get rid of God? Look at today's news: North Korea threatening "Holy War" with nukes! Atheism does not free you from religion. You just get bad religion. You end up led by fellas like the guy in the picture (Muzzolini, an atheist). These pillars of PC are in charge everywhere these days. Their complexion may not be this bad yet, but they corrupt everyone around them. Like the branch manager at Chase who told me, as i closed my account, that having a Christmas tree in the lobby would offend Jews (a secular atheist perhaps, but i doubt an orthodox Jew would be offended any more than i would be offended if all they had was a Menorah--and i made clear to her i would have kept my account open if they at least had that Menorah; if Christ celebrated Hanukkah, that's good enough for me). Our freedom under rule of law descends from great Judaeo-Christian traditions we must honor if the West is to survive. She didn't understand that. Ditz. Neither apparently did the branch manager over at Banco de America who explained that they could no longer have Christmas trees because of the expense of getting fire marshal approval. (That didn't stop Wells Fargo from having Christmas trees, and why would a fire marshal object to an artifical tree anyway? LIARS!) At least the BofA lobby was decked out pretty well with poinsettias, and since these days it seems only Mexicans bank at Banco de America, maybe that's par and i left wishing them Feliz Navidad. The tree is important as a real, tangible, festive reminder of the holiday, although of course it is possible for the real meaning to be lost through commercialism, or by putting a swastika on top instead of a star or angel (see recently released pics of Hitler & Co. celebrating Christmas).

If you have accumulated wealth or life insurance, you may want to create a safety net for your children. Planning is critical if your children are young, in case something happens to you before they are ready to face life on their own without the benefit of your personal training. You solved Problem One (Wealth Accumulation) by obtaining life insurance or by saving hard-earned dollars. Problem Two (Wealth Preservation) is more difficult. Unearned wealth—even in modest amounts—can be a curse. It can lead to loss of motivation, guilt, diminished self-esteem, arrogance, profligate spending, and other destructive behaviors.
Problem Two can be handled with a specially-tailored incentive trust called a Firearms Instruction and Responsible Stewardship Trust (“F.I.R.S.T. Family Trust”).
The F.I.R.S.T. Family TrustTM is the family constitution preserving your family’s power for generations, inculcating values needed for life, fortune, and sacred honor. This highly customizable incentive trust can be drafted with any of the following in mind:

More religionisms listed below--don't see any that take the "-ism" as referring to a mere faction of the root word it qualifies:
Hin·du·ism (hnd-zm)

A diverse body of religion, philosophy, and cultural practice native to and predominant in India, characterized by a belief in reincarnation and a supreme being of many forms and natures, by the view that opposing theories are aspects of one eternal truth, and by a desire for liberation from earthly evils.
Bud·dhism (bdzm, bdz-)

Zo·ro·as·tri·an·ism (zôr-str--nzm)

Since 1975, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has favored handgun control. In fact, the 1975 USCCB statement called for "truly comprehensive control," and it endorsed several interim steps to regulate the use and sale of handguns, including: a cooling off period before a sale; a ban on "Saturday Night Specials"; registration of guns; licensing of owners; and better enforcement of laws relating to manufacture, importation, and sale of handguns. In 1995, the USCCB wrote of intensifying "our advocacy for national policies that address violence, including . . . the availability of drugs and dangerous weapons." Despite the stand of the bishops, all five of the votes in the McDonald majority came from Catholic justices: Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito. The sixth Catholic justice, Sotomayor, voted with the dissent. In light of the teaching by the bishops, one has to wonder about the impact of the McDonald decision.

Catching part of the Sean Hannity show yesterday, I heard Hannity say due to his six week ordeal with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) he pretty much stopped shooting, despite a longtime involvement in the sport and having ccw’s in several states (including California). He did say he might take his son out this summer with a .22 but that’s about it.
It happened to me about five years ago when I was helping teach a firearms course as an assistant instructor. Dumb mistake: I forgot my own electronic ears and borrowed the range’s ears without knowing the condition of those ears.
Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of commercials for tinnitus remedies so it seems the problem is on the rise. There are many groups affected—veterans, aging concert goers, motorcyclists—but due to the growth in the popularity of shooting many shooters are affected, and maybe it will help someone out there if I comment briefly about my own experience. I was never much of a concertgoer, never much of a motorcyclist, and I am not a vet, so I didn’t know anyone else with the problem and that made it worse.
First, let me say definitely go see a doctor with expertise in this area. In rare cases, the problem may have a physical origin other than loud noise, such as a tumor that a surgeon can remove. Nothing I say here is medical advice and I am not a doctor (of medicine). These are just my own experiences and your mileage may vary.
BAD NEWS: Most of the time, tinnitus is caused by excessive noise and there is really nothing they can do, it seems. They may prescribe some kind of pill for it, but that is just to give you something to rely on while your body and mind adjust to the problem. Be careful not to cause more health problems by overdoing it with any of these pills, and definitely stay away from alcohol (just makes it worse).
GOOD NEWS: You WILL adjust, and the problem will become minor and infrequent—eventually—it’s just a question of when. Many people recover in only a few weeks, as did Sean Hannity. In my case, it was absolutely horrible (my worst health problem ever) for close to a year and a half. Like Hannity, aside from the ringing I experienced some hyper-acuity—very strange and very scary. When it happened I was finishing up a masters in tax law and was interviewing for a job in a big law firm. I got the job, but it was a very rough year. After about two years, I would say the problem was minor. I would much rather have this then, say, back pain or a number of other common ailments. Most of the time I don’t notice the noise, and when I do my reaction is “ahh, so what” because I know it will disappear.
The cause is physical, but the recovery is mental. If you are like me and tend to focus intensely on things, your initial “horrible” period may be lengthy like mine. One particular thing helped me improve dramatically, and I urge you to try this: I started keeping track of which days were good, which were bad. Sounds simple and goofy, but it worked because it allowed me to focus on the positive, on the half full rather than half empty, and realize things were not that bad. After that, the problem immediately improved. It’s now been about five years and the problem is so minor as to not significantly affect me.
Deal with it as you must during the initial “horrible” period. When it happened to me, I took the Second Amendment bumper stickers off my Tahoe. I just did not want to be encouraging others toward guns when this awful thing could happen to them. The VERY next day, I got better bumper stickers advocating the Second Amendment even more effectively. As bad as the tinnitus was, I knew how necessary guns were given the direction of the country.
Although I’m sure many atheists get through this fine, I think it’s a huge help to have faith. Tinnitus really ranks up there as a faith-building ordeal. For me, it helped to attend Stations of the Cross and view it as sharing a small sliver of wood from that Cross. I also took sailing lessons.
Stay in good spirits. It WILL get better.
DO protect your hearing from further damage. DON’T let tinnitus keep you away from shooting, a responsibility we all have as free men. DON’T let it prevent you from teaching the next generation of patriots. Because of my experience, I discuss tinnitus and hearing protection at length in my CCW CLASS (http://worldexaminer.com).
Every concertgoer should attend my class.

We also like going to Serra Chapel at Mission--homilies by Norbertines are great there too--but there is something special about OLHC that makes so many pro-gun Catholics drive long distances to attend Mass there. The Russians have a saying "Riba portitsya c golovi" (A fish rots from the head.) So many parishes are rotting from priests who are not men; families rot from fathers who are not men; and our nation is suffering this fate generally. When your priest owns an AK, those values are going to be reflected in the teaching and i certainly saw that today. We'll be back for more.

I met with one of the high-ups of a "catholic index fund" advisor and was told that the below exclusion would apply to any manufacturer of firearms, even of small arms for personal and family defense. Since self-defense is a right and even grave duty under our Catechism, and the Second Amendment derives from Catholic teaching on tyrannicide, and even war can be justified under Catholic Just War Doctrine, this blanket prohibition didn't seem very Catholic to me. I mentioned that many of my Catholic clients are pro-gun and would strongly disagree with this prohibition, and the reply I got was that the fund deals mainly with institutional investors, so it seemed the concerns of individual Catholics were not too relevant.
If you google the "Ecclesial Advisor" for the fund, Fr. Seamus P. Finn, you will find he is a "social justice" advocate ("Director of Justice/Peace and Integrity of Creation"), a proponent of IMF governance reform, and linked with Soros-type marxists and leftists (see for example here, here, here, here, and apparently if you have a password you can chat with Seamus about IMF Governance Reform on a ning page here.)

GUNS ARE GOOD. Self-defense is the other side of the Right to Life coin. There can be no prosperity, without the rule of law it guarantees.
As A gun trust attorney, and concealed firearms instructor, I help families protect life, fortune, sacred honor. As an Econ major I like efficiency, but efficiency will not get us out of this mess. We need to change who we are, and become Americans again.
The Supreme Court recently acknowledged: ‘..'a well-regulated militia’ .. cannot exist unless the people are trained to bearing arms." Jefferson wrote we have a “DUTY to be AT ALL TIMES armed.." Ben Franklin warned we only have a republic if we can keep it. We now have the government we deserve. Does Washington listen? How do you say “no” to Washington? How do you form a state militia without a people trained to bearing arms? The Second Amendment is meaningless unless we live it every day.
Concealed carry has tactical value. But while an INDIVIDUAL may be safer when criminals don’t know who is armed, there is a better way to warn criminals and tyrants. SOCIETY is SAFEST when NEIGHBORS know who is properly armed, and who FAILS “to be at all times armed.” Only open carry provides accountability, and educates the next generation of patriots. THE HOLSTER IS A GREAT TEACHER. A nation that does not respect and protect concealed babies will not respect and protect concealed firearms. Out of sight, is out of mind. Concealed carry is Concealed Speech. Open carry is Ultrasound for the Second Amendment. Open carry is the surest path to a people trained to bearing arms.
Things will not change unless WE change. We must embrace AMERICAN culture, unique in all the world, in all HISTORY. If we don’t, our children will lose their birthright, and the world will lose hope.
While we press for more open carry, we must expand Concealed Carry, and deliver a fight-stopping, center-of-mass hit against socialism in Orange County by Electing Bill Hunt as Sheriff!
Then hold that trigger to the rear, release it just enough to reset the action, and put me on Central Committee. My name is last on the June 8 ballot: Duringer—like the pocket pistol—David R. Duringer, Gun Trust Attorney. Sign up for my FREE concealed carry class at WORLDEXAMINER.COM ~ Thank you
To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher: the trouble with socialism is that, sooner or later, you run out of other people's Virtue...

Shafarevich shows that the first European socialists were heretics, some of them quite violent and murderous (see the chapter "The Socialism of the Heresies" starting on page 18). The Taborites, for example, took over large regions around Prague and later in other countries, plundering and burning churches and brutally murdered priests and peasants who refused to go along with their policies. Like the other socialist heretics, they "held everything in common." But the possessions they held in common were mostly the fruits of other people's labor, including gold and silver items stolen from churches. They were more antichrists than Christians. If we consider this behavior on the part of the earliest socialists, the behavior of the French revolutionaries and the fact that the socialist phenomenon (Shafarevich, like all Soviets, made no distinction between socialism and communism) killed 100 million in the places it was practiced in the 20th century, it should be clear that American "Christian" leftists like Jim Wallis are playing with fire.

Saw a rather disturbing video at Mass today on this new group called Catholic Legislative Network that is pushing heretical Bensonite social justice agenda, diluting the "right to life" with socialized health care, earth worship, and the rest of the socialist dream agenda, everything but the kitchen sink and the Second Amendment - socialists don't like self-defense, just ask the UN which concluded there is no right to self-defense (contrary, by the way, to our Catholic Catechism). The video even gave facetime to David Roberti, co-author of California's "Assault Weapon" Ban. This is heresy, folks! Look at the quote below and see how the socialists try to weaken the family. The family is the social unit closest to God. It takes a family to RAISE a child, and to protect against a village that would RAZE a child. This group is so wrong, and though the Diocese had recommended showing it, the parish had discretion not to show it.
This organization of society moves from the basic unit, the family, to the larger community while ensuring that everyone participates. The emphasis on the larger social group counterbalances unregulated individual rights, that left unconstrained, can turn toward anarchy.

If there is a philosophical system which teaches that all things material and immaterial, visible and invisible, which the world contains are to be considered only as the several parts of an immense Being, who alone remains eternal amidst the continual change and ceaseless transformation of all that constitutes him, we may readily infer that such a system, although it destroy the individuality of man, or rather because it destroys that individuality, will have secret charms for men living in democracies. All their habits of thought prepare them to conceive it and predispose them to adopt it. It naturally attracts and fixes their imagination; it fosters the pride while it soothes the indolence of their minds. And then at the end the chapter–Tocqueville makes a passionate call against it. He writes Among the different systems by whose aid philosophy endeavors to explain the universe I believe pantheism to be one of those most fitted to seduce the human mind in democratic times. Against it all who abide in their attachment to the true greatness of man should combine and struggle.

Ten Helena (Ha) is the beauty sufficient for one oarsmen (of which 50 are on a ship) to risk his life, or be the most beautiful of a thousand women. Beauty is logarithmic on a base of 2. For beauty to increase by 1 Ha, a woman must be the most beautiful of twice as many women. One Helen is 25.6 Ha. The most beautiful woman who ever lived would score 34.2 Ha, and 1.34 H, the pick of a dozen women would be 3.6 Ha, and 0.14 H.

As I said at the beginning, I don’t have the expertise to know whether Luxenberg is right or wrong. But I do know that there are parts of the Koran that are shockingly contradictory—and Luxenberg’s theory is certainly thought provoking. If Luxenberg is right, Islam is built on at best a severe misreading—and at worst, a cynical manipulation by Arab political leaders more than a thousand years ago. It would certainly force a great many Muslims to rethink their faith—and wonder if Mohammed was actually trying to Christianize the polytheistic desert dwellers of Arabia.
